But for some time, the FBI has suspected that Ana Montes could be a Cuban spy. The FBI decides to use Burnham as bait to flush out her and the assassin. They nab the assassin just before he completes his deadly mission. After his ordeal,Burnham decides to return to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe with his lover Anna Guerin for some R & R. But Zimbabwe is once more smoldering just below the surface. There might be a coup against the President. He is ordered to assist the local CIA Chief-of-Station to uncover the plot and find the conspirators so the political ramifications can be determined. Burnham learns that some of his old friends are conspirators. But Zimbabwe politics is like a next of vipers. Plots and sub-plots abound. He discovers that his old friends might be in grave danger.
